Welcome to Lens Obscura Workshops. My name is Natalie Keymist and I am an exhibiting photographic artist with a passion for sharing my love of visual and creative arts with a particular emphasis on photography, animation and alternative photographic processes. I have a passion for making experimental and early photographic techniques more accessible by combining them with modern developments like mobile phone photography.
I am fortunate enough to have ran workshops in galleries, museums, community centres, both primary and secondary schools, private parties and in extra care homes. I have coordinated sessions successfully with families, young people, adults, teachers, children, the elderly, refugees, Special educational needs, disabled people and those with early dementia. About Lens Obscura
EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS:
Lens Obscura workshops introduces the young and young at heart to the magic of pinhole and alternative photographic practices in a holistic way. I aim to teach learners early photographic processes through engaging their immediate environment through the chemistry of the process. The day aims to be an organic and fun learning experience, whilst creating unique photographic images.
My style of workshops introduces learners to photography in its simplest form and my presentations explain how this art form works. Experiencing one of these workshops you will open a creative world to art, history, science, recycling and design.
RECREATIONAL WORKSHOPS:
I provide recreational workshops, which are taught with an informal and fun emphasis. Where young people and adults can learn this art form in a playful way. This is done by using the images made to create narratives, to represents themes or in a treasure hunt format.
Leaving one of these sessions will not only give you an appreciation for the simplicity and diversity for this form of image making, but can be used as a bonding experience between work colleagues, on hen /domestic goddess nights or an activity at private parties.
