On Saturday, I took my mum to kirstie allsopp's handmade fair at hampton court and it was brilliant. Surprisingly the sun graced us after a week of rain and we were able to enjoy being surrounded by creative people running small businesses selling anything from home made soaps and food to services and workshops. It was so inspiring, we went to a talk hosted by Kirstie Allsopp with the childrens writer and illustrator Lauren Child. Who coincidentally is now one of my heros, she and a lady called Pat Cutforth spoke about making dolls houses and minitures. I brought " The princess and the pea in miniarure and got Lauren Child to sign it. Then we ate vegan india food for lunch and attended a workshop hosted by Hester and made vases out of jars and used material. My mum and I left inspired with a free glue gun from the hobby craft stall and spent our journey home crocheting.
